Legal terms governing the use of DroSign services

By using the services of DroSign Notary & Apostille Services ("DroSign," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before engaging our services.

Client Responsibilities

As a client of DroSign, you agree to:

  • Provide valid, government-issued photo identification at the time of notarization
  • Have all documents complete, printed, and ready for signing (do not sign until in the presence of the notary)
  • Understand the nature and content of documents being notarized
  • Appear in person (or via secure video for RON) and sign willingly without duress or coercion
  • Pay for services rendered at the time of completion
  • Provide accurate contact information for scheduling and communication

Valid Identification Requirements

All signers must present a valid, current government-issued photo ID including:

  • • State-issued Driver's License
  • • State ID Card
  • • U.S. Passport or Passport Card
  • • Military ID
  • • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

Expired IDs are generally not acceptable except in limited circumstances as permitted by New Jersey law. Contact us before your appointment if you have concerns about your identification.

Document Readiness

Clients must ensure:

  • Documents are fully completed (except for signature lines) before the notary arrives or the RON session begins
  • All blanks are filled in or marked "N/A"
  • Documents are printed and legible
  • Multiple copies are available if needed

Wait time fees may apply if documents are not ready at the scheduled appointment time, or the appointment may need to be rescheduled (fees apply per Cancellation Policy).

Payment Terms

Payment for notary services is due at the time of service. We accept:

  • • Cash
  • • Check (made payable to DroSign Notary & Apostille Services)
  • • Digital payment (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp)

All fees are quoted in advance. Travel fees, if applicable, are non-refundable once the notary has departed for your location. See our Refund & Payment Policy for complete details.

No Legal Advice Disclaimer

DroSign is NOT a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

As notaries public, we are authorized to:

  • ✓ Verify the identity of signers
  • ✓ Administer oaths and affirmations
  • ✓ Witness signatures on documents
  • ✓ Certify copies of certain documents

We CANNOT:

  • ✗ Provide legal advice or recommendations
  • ✗ Explain the legal effect of documents
  • ✗ Draft or prepare legal documents
  • ✗ Advise which type of notarization is required
  • ✗ Recommend attorneys or legal services

If you have questions about your documents or legal rights, you must consult with a licensed attorney. We are happy to notarize documents prepared by you or your attorney, but we cannot assist with legal content or interpretation.

Mobile Notary Travel Policy

For mobile notary appointments:

  • Travel fees are calculated based on distance and time of service
  • Travel fees are non-refundable once the notary has departed for your location
  • After-hours, weekend, and holiday appointments may incur premium fees
  • You must provide a safe, accessible location for the signing
  • All required parties must be present and ready at the scheduled time

Apostille Service Disclaimers

For apostille processing services:

  • Processing times depend on state and federal authorities and are not within our control
  • We cannot guarantee acceptance of apostilled documents by foreign authorities
  • Clients are responsible for ensuring documents meet the requirements of the destination country
  • Apostille fees charged by government agencies are passed through to clients
  • We are not responsible for rejections due to document content or format issues

Remote Online Notarization (RON) Guidelines

For RON sessions, clients must:

  • Have a reliable, high-speed internet connection
  • Have a functioning camera and microphone on their device
  • Complete identity verification through the RON platform
  • Appear alone on camera (no one else may assist or observe unless authorized)
  • Have documents uploaded to the platform before the session

Technical difficulties on the client's end may result in rescheduling. Late cancellation fees apply if the session cannot be completed due to client-side technical issues.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for complete details. In summary:

  • • 24-hour advance notice required for cancellations or reschedules
  • • Late cancellation fee: $75
  • • No-show fee: $100
  • • Travel fees are non-refundable once the notary departs

By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and accept these cancellation terms.

Digital Signature & Electronic Records Consent

By using Remote Online Notarization services, you consent to:

  • Electronic signing of documents using secure digital signature technology
  • Audio/video recording of the notarization session as required by law
  • Electronic storage of notarized documents and session recordings
  • Electronic delivery of completed documents via secure email or platform download

All RON sessions are recorded and stored securely in compliance with state and federal regulations for the required retention period.

Right to Refuse Service

DroSign reserves the right to refuse notarial services if:

  • The signer cannot be properly identified with valid ID
  • The signer appears to be under duress, coercion, or undue influence
  • The signer lacks mental capacity or appears impaired
  • The document appears incomplete, altered, or potentially fraudulent
  • The notarization would be improper, illegal, or unethical
  • The client has not paid for previous services

If service is refused, any travel fees already incurred are non-refundable. This protects the integrity of the notarial act and complies with our ethical and legal obligations.

Limitation of Liability

DroSign's liability is limited to the notarial act itself. We are not responsible for:

  • The content, validity, or legal effect of any document notarized
  • Consequences resulting from the use or filing of notarized documents
  • Acceptance or rejection of documents by third parties or government agencies
  • Delays in apostille processing caused by government authorities
  • Client's failure to understand the documents being signed
  • Errors or omissions in client-prepared documents

Our maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question. DroSign maintains Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance as required by law.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any disputes arising from these terms or services provided shall be resolved in the courts of New Jersey.

By using DroSign services, you agree to attempt good-faith resolution of any disputes before pursuing legal action.

Changes to Terms

DroSign reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
